GICLEE PRINT – Artwork printed on Platinum Matt 280gsm photo paper and is 100% acid free. A fine art photo paper with a natural white base and state of the art ink-receiving layer, delivers a high D-MAX and wide colour gamut. When used in conjunction with pigment inks, the paper will ensure a long print life of over 85 years.

The design of Villa Mairea is inspired by both modernism and the natural landscape of Finland. The building is surrounded by forests, and Aalto designed the house so it would feel like part of its environment. The structure uses materials such as wood, brick, and stone, which help the building blend into the landscape.
One of the most interesting features of Villa Mairea is the use of wooden columns inside the house. These columns resemble tree trunks and create a visual connection between the interior space and the surrounding forest. Aalto often used this kind of organic design to make buildings feel more natural and less rigid. The interior spaces of the house are designed to be comfortable and welcoming. Instead of using strict geometric layouts, Aalto created flowing spaces that allow people to move naturally through the building. Large windows allow natural light to enter the rooms and provide views of the surrounding landscape.
Today, Villa Mairea is considered one of the masterpieces of modern architecture. It shows how modern design can be combined with natural materials and human-centred ideas.
